چکیده
Current System of Care Emergency Medical Services System Design Prehospital EMS systems have 3 major components: emergency medical dispatch, public safety (fire and law enforcement) first response, and EMS ambulance response. Each of these operates within a broader emergency care system, which includes acute care facilities and regionalized healthcare services. In most states, an EMS regulatory entity within the state government oversees the emergency care system. Many states have regional EMS councils and advisory boards that function with varying levels of authority.

Prehospital and interhospital delay in the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation and strategies to improve it from the perspective of the process owners: The importance of time
Introduction: Fibrinolytic drugs are one of the important strategies for the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation, especially in small centers. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the distance with the global standard for fibrinolytic treatment and the viewpoints of experts in this regard. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional st...
متن کاملDevelopment of systems of care for ST-elevation myocardial infarction patients: the physician perspective.
The physician’s overarching role in the development of systems of care for ST-segment–elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is to advocate for achieving the goal of early infarct-artery patency for all patients with STEMI. An effective STEMI care system relies on a team of multiple physicians, nurses, emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, and other providers to work in an efficient, col...
متن کاملThe Role of Pre-hospital and Hospital Emergency system in Ischemic Time Management of Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients: A Review
According to the latest guidelines, the best intervention to restore blood flow through occluded coronary arteries is angioplasty at a time less than 90 minutes. Delay in timely implementation of reperfusion is one of the key issues in the management of ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). In this review study, papers published from 1999-2019 were used to investigate Role of Pre-hospital...
متن کاملComparative effectiveness of ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction regionalization strategies.
BACKGROUND Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is more effective on average than fibrinolytic therapy in the treatment of ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction. Yet, most US hospitals are not equipped for PCI, and fibrinolytic therapy is still widely used. This study evaluated the comparative effectiveness of ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction regionalization strategie...

BACKGROUND The Mission: Lifeline STEMI Systems Accelerator program, implemented in 16 US metropolitan regions, resulted in more patients receiving timely reperfusion. We assessed whether implementing key care processes was associated with system performance improvement. METHODS AND RESULTS Hospitals (n=167 with 23 498 ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction patients) were surveyed before (...
